This reminds me of an interesting design for a one-handed typewriter from the 19th Century; I think it was called the Malling-Hansen Writing Ball. Supposedly the arrangement of keys on this and other early typewriters were *too* fast for their own machinery, which lead to the adoption of the QWERTY keyboards we use today. An interesting project!
